How I Work
I’m direct, no BS, and I’ll tell you what I actually see. I also listen more than I speak.
That’s not a contradiction. It took me years to learn when to speak, when to listen, and when to just hold the room steady.
Where It Started
I spent two years in Afghanistan supporting special operations and government agencies across shifting sites, threats, and consequences. That environment taught me that presence matters more than bravado. When things get heavy, people need someone steady enough to think clearly, make decisions, and keep moving.
What Shaped It
After that, I spent years in information security, first developing and teaching courses, then moving into assessment work where I interfaced with hundreds of executives and dozens of boards. I sat in the rooms, heard the real concerns, and watched leaders wrestle with pressure, accountability, and execution.
I later built a small IT services company from the ground up through exit and held executive roles in a seven-figure software startup and an eight-figure information security firm. Business leadership humbled me fast. You cannot do it all. Ego gets expensive. Real leverage comes from knowing what you know, owning what you don’t, and influencing without needing to be the smartest person in the room.
What It Taught Me
What 23 years of varied experience taught me is simple: most business problems are not purely technical, operational, or structural. They are problems of clarity, ownership, alignment, and execution.
What I’m Building
I’m building a focused advisory practice for owners and executives who want to operate cleaner, lead better, and execute with less friction. The Edge drops this summer. An ecosystem based on the STRYN™ Blueprint is in active development including a video series and a second book.
This is a body of work in motion. Systems create success.
